The manuals required for Finnair's aircraft maintenance operations have been produced and processed in structured SGML format for years and managed with the Livelink system.

Automation from start to finish of the process

Finnair chose OpenText Content Server as the maintenance software for maintenance-related material. The material received from the aircraft manufacturers on the CD is run on the OpenText Content Server with a program that automatically creates a directory hierarchy that matches the structure, breaks the material into sections sized for individual maintenance tasks, and places them and images in the correct folders in the directory.

The OpenText Content Server also manages the maintenance documentation produced by Finnair itself. Documents stored in the system can be edited using the integrated Arbortext editor.
